A Profile of Poker Pro Juan Carlos Mortensen

However, this list would not be complete without including Juan Carlos Mortensen. This poker pro made his way to the spotlight by emerging victorious in consecutive major poker tournaments. His deep credentials include a victory at the 32nd annual installment of the World Series of Poker (WSOP).
Right from the very start, the skills of Mortensen has already been very evident. In his first major tournament, that is the 31st Annual WSOP, he already had a very strong finish. He ended up seventh overall against all the best poker pro players during that time. His initial first place finish came on February 23, 2001, when he competed against the best at the L.A. Poker Classic. There, he won the Limit Texas Hold'em event.
The career of Mortensen can be traced back in Madrid, Spain. This is where he competed and improved his all around skills as a poker pro. Today, his earnings from the game amount to more than $8 million. Surely things will never be the same for him as he continuously partake in the different major poker tournaments worldwide.
Things are looking up for Mortensen as he tries to compete more in the international poker scene. Wait for him to capture more titles in the future. Right now, he is currently ranked number 12 among the best poker pros. He has already captured three major titles between 2006 and 2007.
In January 22, 2006, Mortensen had a first place finish at the WSOP Grand Casino Tunica Poker Tournament. He did that feat once again eight months later at the Johnny Chan Invitational. In his latest run, he finished first in one of the major events at the fifth season of the World Poker Tour (WPT) in April 2007.
The playing style of Mortensen can be described as relaxed with just the right amount of aggressiveness needed to win games. In a short span of time, he has already won a couple of major WSOP events. He has also won several WPT main events.
