A Feature on Poker Pro T. J. Cloutier

Poker pro T. J. Cloutier is another household name when it comes to poker. Almost every player involved in the professional poker circuit has encountered or even heard of this outstanding poker player. Throughout the years, he has emerged as one of the best players in the game. He has won numerous tournaments all over the world.

Cloutier has emerged into a respectable figure in the world of poker. He has already written several strategy books on the game. Some of these are even done in collaboration with another poker great Tom McEvoy. These books were meant to instruct and teach aspiring poker players some of the best techniques and strategies in the game.

While serving as a soldier of the U.S. Army, Cloutier got to know the game of poker from his fellow soldiers. After that, he also played football which he eventually left after acquiring a severe injury. Later on he became an entrepreneur, getting involved in the food industry. However, this area was not meant to be for Cloutier. After his business closed, he was forced to work in an oil rig.

Later on, Cloutier realized that he was earning more from playing poker. This started his career shift as a poker pro. Despite having several bracelets in the World Series of Poker, he has yet to succeed in any major event. His total winnings already amount to almost $7 million. He has already finished first place in various events for a total of 16 times.

Cloutier has openly expressed his admiration for fellow poker pros like Erik Seidel, Chip Reese and Surrindar Sunar. The start of his professional career dates back to May 1985, finishing a very respectable second place at a No Limit Hold'em event in the 16th Annual World Series of Poker. He followed this up with years of playing excellent winning poker.

So far in 2007, his record seems pretty much impressive. He finished no lower than 23rd place in 8 major poker tournaments. He ended up in the 20th place at the Scandinavian Open, 16th at the NBC National Heads Up Championship, and 23rd, 11th and 17th in three different events at the 38th installment of the yearly World Series of Poker.

In August 2007, Cloutier had a solid performance at the third Annual Red River Roundup. He finished second overall in a No Limit Hold'em event, winning a total of $120,000. In the following month, he participated in the Gulf Coast Poker Championship for the sixth season of the World Poker Tour. He finished 21st in the No Limit Hold'em Championship event.

Cloutier's last joined the World Poker Finals of the World Poker Tour. His 12th place finish in another No Limit Hold'em Championship event shows that he is still very much into the game. His consistent winning performance throughout the years has made him one of the most respectable figures in the world of poker.
